God is not looking for aristocrats, highly educated or noble people
For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. — 1 Corinthians 1:26,27
God chooses ordinary, unremarkable people for His work.
The Greek word eugenes translates to "noble" or "well-born."
God looks for simple, ordinary people to accomplish His will.
Sometimes God calls the rich and famous, but more often He chooses ordinary people.
Unwise is a translation of the Greek word moraine, meaning foolish, feeble-minded, or ignorant.
In the days of the first church, the word moraine was used to describe people ridiculed and held in contempt.
Paul said, "God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise."
The Greek word kataishuno means "to put to shame," "to confuse," or "to bewilder."
The word sophos means "wise," "outstanding," "intellectual," or "enlightened."
If someone considers you narrow-minded, uneducated, or ignorant, there is a high probability that God will choose you.
God chose people considered foolish, completely ignorant, and narrow-minded by the world.
God is not looking for geniuses or people of noble birth; He is looking for ordinary people.
If you consider yourself an ordinary person, you are one of the people God chooses to do great things.
God chooses people from all social classes and educational backgrounds.
There are successful individuals who have done great things for God, and they belong to various social classes and educational backgrounds.
My confession for this day
I am one of those people whom God chooses. I am not of noble birth, but Jesus cleansed me and redeemed me with His blood, and that means I am worthy to be chosen. God's Word is my guide, the Holy Spirit is my teacher, so I can handle whatever Jesus gives me. Obediently, decisively and faithfully, I will carry out any of His tasks.
I confess it with faith in the name of Jesus.
